SpiceJet hikes fuel surcharge by Rs 400

Budget air carrier SpiceJet today increased fuel surcharge by Rs 400 with immediate effect, a day after private domestic airlines Jet Airways and Kingfisher Airlines announced their decision. - Kingfisher follows Jet, hikes fuel surcharge by Rs 400 - Japan Airlines to cut flights to India due to swine flu - A whiff of the old sea - Domestic air traffic down 11% in Jan-May period - Jet to cancel a Boeing 777 plane order - Special tug joins search for Air France black box "We have increased fuel surcharge by Rs 400 on our flights," announced SpiceJet Chief Operating Officer Samyukta Shreedharan. The hike is effective from today, he added. The increase in fuel surcharge by the airlines comes on the back of an over 12 per cent increase in the aviation turbine fuel prices by oil marketing companies on June 15. Jet Airways and Kingfisher hiked fuel surcharge by Rs 400 from Tuesday.
