Nalco hikes prices by Rs 3,500 a tonne

State-run National Aluminium Company (Nalco) today increased prices of aluminium by Rs 3,500 a tonne, a second hike for the prevailing month, citing improvement in the metals rate at the London Metal Exchange (LME). - NPCIL needs Rs 1 lakh crore for capacity addition by 2020 - Cement prices set to rise in western, southern regions - Commercial tax collection up 19% - Nalco second phase expansion nearing completion - Govt won"t sell more stake in Nalco - Aluminium at 14-mth high "We have increased aluminium prices by 3,500 a tonne following the price movement at the LME," a Nalco spokesperson told PTI. Price range for the products were not available immediately. Nalco had on December 11 increased aluminium prices by Rs 7,000 per tonne. Aluminium prices have improved by $200 to $2,230 a tonne at the LME in the past one month. Meanwhile, Nalco has also invited bids to sell some quantity of alumina for which the last date is January 6.
