J K Paper sets the ball rolling for carbon credits

J K Paper Mills claimed that it is the first industrial house in Orissa to have initiated the process of registration for carbon credits. J K Paper"s plant having a capacity of 1.25 lakh tonnes per annum is located at Jaykaypur in south Orissa’s Rayagada district. The company has lined up a Rs 1500 crore expansion plan to double the capacity of the plant in the next 18 months. The company has commenced the process of registration for carbon credits at a time when the world leaders are debating on the issue of climate change at the 12-day meet in Copenhagen which began on Monday. Although the World Bank has not given us any monetary support so far, it has supported us on documentation and some other paper work, Goel said.
